Thanks to everyone who came along on Saturday to kick off the biggest arts and design market in the region! With over 200 artists, designers and makers selling work our wonderful venue was bursting at the seams with colourful creations of all kinds.

Don’t miss the last day on Sunday 6 Dec when we’ll be open 10am – 5pm with over 140 stalls of perfect handmade gifts, live music in the Crown Court and a vintage fair up in the Concert Room.

David Rycroft: I Love Upcycle

David uses themes that formed his childhood and education to inspire a mixture of nostalgia and reverence from the viewers of his work – a piece of print or graphic or discarded form provides the inspiration to try something new or unique. His work often includes reused or upcycled elements– he loves saving, modifying, updating and getting a new life for unloved or rejected items.

Carol Emmas

Carol Emmas is a journalist by profession and studied printmaking and photography at Withen’s Lane, Wallasey. She attempts to find landscapes within the patina of oxidised metals, weathered wood and paint, on sea-washed buildings and boats.

Mark Harrison

He has worked for FACT Liverpool, BBC Worldwide, Glastonbury Festival, Oxford University Press and Q Magazine.

Phil Ferguson-Jones

Phil Ferguson-Jones draws inspiration from vintage prints and posters, Art Deco and typography. His prints concentrate primarily on depicting the architecture of Liverpool using a minimalised colour palette to make the image less complicated and pleasing to the eye. All his illustrations are drawn and then completed digitally, signed and dated.

Helen Hall: Xerces Art

Helen Hall started her jewellery business after falling in love with making pieces for herself. Originally using tiny glass vials she has expanded into different materials and techniques and now creates a wide range of jewellery types using semi-precious gemstones, polymer clays and recycled materials. Some of her proudest pieces are made using watch parts from watches that no longer work, extending the life of something old to give it a new and beautiful lease of life.

Helen’s work also includes scrap metal sculptures, zen garden terrariums, bespoke honeycomb spice racks and keepsakes.

Emma Wright: Rare Bear

Rare Bear believes that clothing for kids should be bright, practical and fun.

They make high quality garments from natural fabrics for ages 0-12 as well as quirky, unique soft toys and hobby horses (all CE safety marked). Rare Bear also operates out of a small shop in Allerton, Liverpool.

Marie Canning

Marie Canning makes porcelain jewellery, accessories and ceramic vessels by hand-building and throwing on the pottery wheel to a miniature scale. Each piece is partially glazed and tiny drops of gold lustre are added, with the pieces set into sterling silver.

Marie graduated from Manchester School of Art in 2012.

Nora Benhayyi: The Black Wardrobe

Nora Benhayyi of The Black Wardrobe crafts handmade, vintage and Gothic inspired jewellery, taking her inspiration from the past. Victorian, Art-Nouveau and Art-Deco eras influences all make an appearance, and all her jewellery is made with original filigrees and stamping from these beautiful periods plus sparkling Czech glass and crystals.

Debbie Steventon: Monster Emporium
