Handcrafted unusual and quirky jewellery, many of which are animal forms, made in my home studio in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Lancashire.
I use sterling silver, copper, brass, pewter, semi-precoius stones and recycle old pre-decimal coins.
The designs in the coins are cut by piercing individually with a thin-bladed jewellers saw, not by machine/laser. A new collection for this year is the flame painted copper pieces – one-of-a-kind, using a micro torch to produce different hues of blues, pinks, yellows, browns with each heating.
All chains, wires and fasteners for the pendants, brooches and earrings are sterling silver, I do not use silver plate: the exception are the keyring chains which are ordinary metal. Also, the more recent sixpences will be nickel, though the ear wires will still be sterling silver.
